Darvocet 50 mg is used as a pain relief medication for mild to moderate pain. Darvocet 50mg is an analgesic that belongs to the opioid drug class. Darvocet-N 50 orange oval pill contains propoxyphene (opioid) and acetaminophen (central nervous system stimulant).

The general dosage of Darvocet 50 mg is a single tablet every 4 hours orally as required for pain. The maximum dose of Darvocet is not more than 12 tablets per day. If you are making any changes in the dosage of the Darvocet pain medication, ask your doctor. Altering the dose may cause an overdose that will lead to health issues such as inability to respond, abdominal pain, changes in blood pressure or heart rate, slow, shallow, or stopped breathing, confusion, coma, or even death.

During the assessment for Darvocet, you should inform them about your medical history because the use of Darvocet 50 mg is prohibited in some medical conditions like asthma, COPD (chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs), sleep apnea, or other breathing disorders, liver or kidney disease, a stomach or intestinal disorder, suicidal thoughts or behavior, mental illness, a history of drug or alcohol addiction, a history of head injury or brain tumor.

The side effects of Darvocet 50 mg may include drowsiness, respiratory depression, worsened depression, suicidal thoughts, rash and jaundice, blurred vision, excessive sleep, frenzied behavior, dizziness, confusion or hallucinations, lack of stability, dry mouth, brain damage, heart toxicity result in a stroke, sudden mood changes, calm and relaxed feelings, euphoria, and loss of appetite.
